What is Transformational Leadership?

James V. Downton coined the term “transformational leadership” in 1973, and James Burns expanded the concept in 1978. Bernard M. Bass, a scholar, developed the notion in 1985 to measure the effectiveness of transformational leadership by incorporating techniques.
